COALITION - BLACKMAILING...............

The Karat and company has again threw the bait...the bait of terminating the support to the beleaguered U.P.A. That it comes from the well-educated soft-spoken decency-personified group of people, opens up the Pandora's box of the coalition experiment at various stages as an instrument of settling personal ego es nestled in narrow-minded, arrogantly costumed and stubbornly draped political mindset.

A mere 5-8 % of the parliamentarians holding the oxygen cylinder of the ruling coalition is itself a slap on the spirit of democracy. A percentage that is good to be ignored and meant to be dumped in the waste-bin of parliamentary arithmetic has reared an undeserving head for too big a lion's cake that it can stomach. Good or bad, when we know even CHINA and a few other countries are gearing up international resistance against the deal, left's stand in a way raises serious qs. about its patriotic spirit. Since when has this meagre 5 % started speaking for the rest 95% of the population. Even if there are a few discrepancies, but the historic deal never ever stipulates to undermine India's national interests to the harrowing monstrous levels to which THE LEARNED men have exaggerated to. ON ONE HAND WHEN IT DOESN'T EVEN ALLOW TO RAISE PETROL PRICES IN THE WAKE OF INCREASING INTERNATIONAL BARREL RATES, on the other hand it doesn't even allow to produce nuclear power as an alternative to whatever small percentage it can be. Now is the left not itself responsible for the rising inflation
and price rise and proving to be a stumbling block in the wake of worldwide pressing economic environment.

In fact the comrades in karat, Bardhan, Dasgupta and Somnath Chatterjee (who doesn't miss a minute shedding tears for the degrading moral standards of parliamentarian etiquette's) have been more of a tired horse rather than visionary statesmen which the nation would have hoped them to be.

Haven't we seen time and again a repeat of Jallianwala massacre in NANDIGRAM, the strong hold of the left. Hasn't even the governor GOPALKRISHAN GANDHI expressed his deep anguish at the way the state is governed, hasn't the power problem in the state been so erratic that even RAJ BHAWAN volunteered for a two-hour power-cut. Haven't we seen the CPI COMRADES RAPING WOMEN and roaming Scot free, haven't we seen unending strikes and dharnas for the step-motherly treatment to the gorkhas forcing them to demand a seperate State- thus putting loss of crores on the exchequer. Haven't we seen the stooges of govt. stooping to the lowest levels in patronising a particular industrial house.

Well Karat and company surely is winking when it comes to settle its own house properly and the great Brinda Karat suddenly seems to have a bad throat when it comes to human-rights violations in her home state. And how about the great opportunistic friends in Samajwadi Party who till now were hobnobbing with the left suddenly developing a great fancy for the congress. By announcing to withdraw support, Karat has put himself in the shoes of Deve Gowda and paved the way for another deceptive and unworthy group of Mulayam and company to garner the benefits of political compulsions.

criminal hypering of misplaced authority....

There has been an incident in which a few stray dogs shooed away for creating a ruckus in the street and running after bikes and scooters with their frightening barks being blown to exaggeratingly mocked-up proportions. The incident in a posh-colony inhabited by the supposedlly educated people in Delhi's Mayur Vihar area is a striking example of political muscle-flexing by the redundant bunch of self professed, self-styled, self-eugolized, media-hogging, publicity-thirsty breed of politically unemployed, unworthy and undeserving species whose only proximity to the taste of power has been by her matrimonial alliance to the most famous political family of the nation and who herself now hob-nobs with the staunch enemies of her late husband's political ideology. Such an insatiable lust to be in the news has prompted the woman in question to regularly put pressure on police to register a case against the persons who shooed even when these stray dogs run after them or the children playing or fight amongst themselves when an outsider dog intrudes on their territory.

I don't understand the analogy and the value she attaches to human life. Every lane in almost all localities except the V.I.P. areas ( where she resides and where the whole of administrative machinary is doled out to watch for a peck-of-dust not hitting the ground ), is armed with 8-10 dogs howling especially at night, running after passer-bys and even pouncing at the regular inhabitants more so if one is carrying a bag in hand which is conceived to be their stomach-filler

Its almost become frightening to come out on the roads for the fear of being barked at and if one has some guests coming, phone-calls are made to be their on the road where the dog's terrirtorial rights start.

Any genuine cruelty towards the poor animal (those who are innocent of the lot) is to be undoubtedly condemned but blowing it out to ridiculous proportions that border on insanity and insensitivity of human mind with an eye to score an egoist denominator and try to stir up the ripples must be dealt with an equally strong public rebuttal; detonating any attempt to explode the ammunition of public sentiments.

The self styled protagonists would well garner some genuine admiration if they look into the ways of feeding these poor creatures whom I always see licking up the drain water or tearing apart the heaps of garbage to fend themselves. tHEY MUST BE WELL-TRAINED TO NOT BARK AND

SIDHU's OPPERTUNISTIC AND DOUBLE-STANDARD POLITICS..........

Navjot Sngh Sidhu has emerged as a laughing stock character used by the party that marketed his joker like messmerizing capability as a pliable pyaada (sepoy) in the game of political chess. I am sure THE GREAT INDIAN CIRCUS which has lost its sheen over the years to put the public into hillarious bouts of laughter should have hired him. Anything more to be expected of Sidhu in practical life outside the circus arena, then borders on monotonous and sickening repeat of what he thinks is his charisma. The rhetoric then starts sucking into the audience which in any case has by such a time better understood his double-standard pointed and sharply fired salvos.

The supposedly professed saviour of the downtroden with his wide-mouthed ornamental vocablury (which are his pet-" emotion arousing " high and forceful sounding decibels) must realize the futility of oft- repeated slogans in trying to get away from the ghost of his own shady and disgusting past. On one hand Sidhu never tires in advocating justice to the common man, on the other hand he forgets he himself is an accused and has used all powerful means and money power apart from his own official position to deny justice to the poor family who lacks all charisma, power(money and political), the services of great orators like Arun Jaitely in exploiting the loopholes in law and valiently walking free without a semblence of remorse. It sounds a very humiliaiting gesture that he pushed out a 65 year old man from his car in a fit of parking rage, blowed fists, pushed him down on the road and then if this was not enough took his car keys before victoriously walking away. The man later died in the hospital.

Having evaded justice and smilingly patting himself that this was what happens everywhere and was a normal occurance in a fit of rage; not even meeting the family of the victim once or ever be sorry for what he has done-- the man with the inherently displaced and dispositioned quota of guts is a bad example to the civilised world, the parliament which he unfortunately is elected to, to the judicial turn of events which by his particular case exemplifies a differnnt set of rules for the blue-eyed boys of our misinterprated spirit of democracy. Resigning and then getting elected two months later with the same forcefuly manipulated rhetoric and hoo-haa oratory, getting back to various t.v. shows, thanks to his savvy obsessed anchors the man is undettered and unfazed for he knows his armour of jokes and prose will do the wonders again.

It is for the people of his constituency to realise the folly in electing him . More than any service to common man---be it his dharna against price-rise, it is more of the immunity and high-public relation contacts that are going to delay him from clutches that hold any-other guilty in the way it should. But it must be remembered in the interest of our poetic master --"kaath ki haandi baar-baar nahii chhartti"......which means ....."one can not befool all the people all the time." His recent agitation where his turban loosened was a shameful piece of theatre to unsuccessfully heat-up public sentiments.

Here it needs to be mentioned that the author of this write-up was once a die-hard fan of Sidhu even noting down what he quotes, but the mockery that followed and the twisting of the case which in the first instance is as crystal clear as it could be, the denial of justice to the backward -not at all savvy kind or media friendly victims changed the author's perception.

I don't understand where are Barkha Dutts and Sagarika Ghoshs, who do not miss an attempt to help nurse a cause in the form of so called media-trial and justice to the needy campaigns......or are their some mutual equations .........

ANYWAYS, .....I HAVE FAITH ...........MEAR BHARAT MAHAAN................................and that justice shall trickle.... till then I resolved not to watch his T.V. shows mostly sponsored by N.DT.V. who have earned a good reputation of highlighting the detracked cases of the poor and helpless but for obvious commitments choose to ignore this particular case.

Arushi case...........inefficiency----- THY NAME IS LAW......

NOW THAT NOTHING POSITIVE HAS COME OUT OF ALL THE TESTS AND DETENTIONS OF Mr. TALWAR, shouldn't the Noida Police be sued in the court of law for --

a. character assassination of the dead 14 yr old along Talwar-Durani 's imaginative extra-marital relations before reaching to any conclusion.
b. For misleading the nation from day 1.
c. destroying the evidence.
d. non-competitive and scientific investigations.
e. wasting precious time
f. intruding and violating FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS of an individual.

Mere transfers and then again plush postings when the dust settles down has become the order of governance of the day.

Judgement....BIJAL JOSHI rape case........

A girl so very deep in love with what she thought was her final destination. She blindfolding believes and trusts when her boyfriend calls her to celebrate the new year eve at Hotel Ashok Palace in Osmanpur on 31st Dece.2003.

After heavy drinks and a night what the spoilt rich brats of the stinking wealthy fathers believe as an enhancement of their man-hood, the helpless girl is not only raped by her boyfriend but his four more friends also plunge into the flowing waters of sex and sleaze shredding into smithereens the very pious five lettered word --LOVE, on whose very foundation of trust and faith she ventured to celebrate the party. After 7 days the helpless soul having been a prey to 5 vultures committed suicide naming all the accused in her suicide note for gang rape and torture. Her body bearing several bite marks was a testimony to the harrowing night she must have passed through after being ditched for lust in the name of love.

The main accused of the high end society crime Sajal is the son of an industrialist and owner of Delhi's Apollo Millennium Hospital and is the Delhi based dealer of Mahek Gutkha, two more accused Chandan and Ashok Jaiswal are sons of wealthy hotel owner Pannalal.

The verdict of district judge JYOTSNA YAGNIK in awarding LIFE-IMPRISONMENT to 5 accused still did not show any remorse trickling down the facial expressions of the culprits as their pictures splashed the pages of the newspapers. But somewhere I am sure Bijal joshi's soul must be resting in peace after 4 and a half years of trial.

The judge must be complimented for not giving under any temptations of the obnoxiously stinking wealthy families although death sentence should have been a better option for this rarest of the rare case in which one shudders to think what the helpless victim who by default herself walked into her death cage must have gone through at the hands of 5 drunk wolves masquerading as men pouncing on her flesh as some hot mutton-tikka served with wine.

One needs to ponder over the fact -- Why does a victim have to commit suicide for the wheels of justice to start rolling? Why does it take one innocent life for the administration to wake off its slumber and do what they are paid to do? The latest case of a disillusioned victim to end her life in a letter to the then Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Justice Karpagavinayagam( in which case the judge showed exemplary sense of moral duty and acted swiftly), another victim consuming pesticides in the office of the Addl. DGP Haryana in a desperate attempt to get justice after being raped by the constables in a nation that never forgets to glorify having the first woman President, a very powerful Iron Lady as an ex-P.M. , one of the most powerful woman as the national party's Chairperson, the first woman C.M., first woman in space etc,etc... is but a shame in the society that still sees women as an object of sexual gratification and instant satisfying lust, a denial of justice and an epitome of exploitation.

Well I believe--" A COUNTRY THAT DOES NOT RESPECT IT'S WOMEN CAN NEVER PROGRESS"...............

CRIMINALISATION OF POWER--sacha sauda's arrogance.....

The firing by the guards of the already maligned sacha-sauda chief who has been in news for raping women under the garb of religious pretentions and that too after being given 35 commandoes to accompany him spills hypocricy of a system so very embroiled in its own dubiousity. To let lose a reign of terror by the men in uniform in so baltant a manner to kill innocent people and then leave the place in a typical style that depicts the plunderes of chambal in any action movie is a slur on the functioning of our demaocracy. It is nothing less than a state - sponsored terrorist attack in the gestation stage and if not checked in the stringent way would perhaps replay another Bhinrawala-types. Sheer waste of tax-payer's money and arrogance to take law in its own hands by the security calls for some serious thinking for continuing such a tamasha. Not to miss the fact that the culprit be booked not because he killed somebody but because he killed somebody donning the security uniform. The spate of adminstration's failure to deal with such problems and then compelling people to throng the streets for dharnas and city bandhs at a time when inflation is touching an all time high of 11% and our per capita a mere $380 is nothing but suicidal on the economical front apart from losing the moral right to govern.

RESERVATIONS @17,000 crore..

No doubt Indians have earned the reputation of being the most selfish breed on earth in a survey that found Israel to be the most faithful to their nation, Japanese to be the most hardworking and U.S. citizens to be the most individualistic peole.
In Japan people protest by wearing black badges and working beyond the office hours to put forward their demands. The economy at any cost does not suffer neither is the city held to ransom. No private property is set to flames, destruction is deletd from their charter of protest.
The recent Gujjar agitation spread over 27 days, losing 39 lives, affecting 15 districts caused cancellation of 24 train routes, 40 bus routes, causing inconvenience to lakhs of stranded passengers, resulting in 9,000 crore business and industry loss and a mamoth 17,000 crore TOTAL ECONOMIC LOSS in lieu of a mere 5% quota speaks low of people who once held pride in being calling their nation as THE GOLDEN SPARROW, a part of a civilisation that is the oldest HARAPPA and MOHENJODARO where remnants of man's efficiency and intelligence still remains a matter of pride.

WHAT A NATIONAL SHAME ........but who will tell whom?????????????

MERA BHARAT is still MAHAAN
............for there would always be room for more reservations when the impotent govts. rule the roost.

HUMAN INSENSITIVITY----woman dragged by snatchers.... MONOTONOUS POLICE...

There couldn't be much inhuman an act as to drag a woman who resisted her purse being snatched from the rickshaw by the motorcycle-borne goons on the road until she fell unconcious on the Delhi Gurgaon Expressway. The inabilty of the police to check crime coupled with their hand in glove profit sharing from the known goons of the respective areas and the lethargic loophole manifested legal framework with an abysmally poor conviction rate must be complimented for the ever increase in the deteriorating law and order in the city in particular and elsewhere in general.
Another woman being molested in a moving bus and then beaten by the molestor is another feather in the crime graph of the city......

Well tall promises from whoever occupies the hot seat at the Police Hqs. seem to dissipate the moment monotony of the system seeps into the gushing promises.

CRIME----INDIA AS THE WORLD no. 1 MURDER CAPITAL.........

Maximum no. of murders in India makes it the MURDER CAPITAL.....three times more than Pakistan and twicw more than U.S.
32,719 murders in India as against
16,692 in U.S. and
9,631 in Pakistan.

50 lakh crimes reported in 2007-2008, including murder, rape and drug offences.
44,159 incidents of sexual abuse.
2,70,861 serious assaults.
22,814 robbery and thefts......................
........................................................................besides an equal no. of all these cases going unreported.

Delhi saw an increase of 1.08% in murders in 2007 against 2006.

Quite an applause for the adrenaline raising T.V anchors who don't miss a bite romping home the point at ---- " We the people " or " Face the nation "-----if some XYZ is legal in other counties why not in India or if some ABC is prevalent abroad why not in India,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

With double our murder stastics than U.S. ---aren't we on the right track?????????????

DRINKS-----FRIENDLY 24X7 PUBS..booze all the way

After prosecuting more than 3,400 persons for drunken driving in Delhi in the last few months which include a large no. of teenagers and a perenial spate of death tolls making everyday headlines, the very viability of 24 hr. liquor-friendly bars are a curse to human existence. I am sure what would one of the parents of the 120 kmph driven Tata indigo (who himself is in this booming liquor business) driven under the influence of heavy liquor has to say after having seen the ripped up skeletons of the car which tossed several times killing three out of four teenagers.

SOCIAL ISSUES-----MORE HUMANE A JOB GOR THE ACTIVISTS....

If protagonist activist in Prashant Bhushan who value human life so much as to argue the culmination of capital punishment by the state would have shown some scant respect and thought for capital punishments metted out to the innocent commuters at the hands of brazenly drunk culprits -------Delhi roads wouldn't have been such a night-mare. 202 deaths including 72 in 2007 on NH-8 and about a lac of people dying in road accidents in a year, sure is a better and more sensible charitable mission to work for than seeking clemency for the 28 convicts granted death sentence in the rarest of the rare categories of heinous crimes. Is anybody listening or a cat needs to be belled........................???????????????

LATE NIGHT PUBS + RASH DRIVING -a lethal combo .....SUPREME COURT'S related judgement....

The recent decisions of the judiciary to relax the pub and bar timings must be seen in the backdrop of the administration's capability to stomach it and the general public's worth in deserving the same. It is not that one shouldn't be progressive, it is that if serving 18 year olds is as blatant a reality under the administration's nose and the younger (media incited) generation as eager to propound "MY DECISION " and "MY RIGHT" theory to such lethal combinations that the very holy arguements resting on fundamental-rights' background seem hollow and the judge's application of mind incosistent with the ground realities.

Even a hundred convicts can be freed to protect one innocent from being framed. But are we not seeing the repeat of innocents been put on pyre repeatedly and the convict bailed out in a few hours......or if convicted--the acumen of Jethmalani, U. khan and R.K. Anand comes handy to falsify the truth in the canvass of imaginative arguements and buying of witnesses.

Shouldn't judiciary be not a bit more judicious in sensibly realizing the ground realities before being the perfectionists of an ideal society, for haven't our school physics taught -----THERE IS NOTHING CALLED AN IDEAL MACHINE, ITS ONLY ON PAPER TO SOLVE THE EQUATIONS,,,,,,,,THE WEAR AND TEAR OF THE MACHINES IS SYNONYMOUS WITH HUMAN DISCREPENCIES which negates the very basis of IDEAL JUDGEMENTS..........

The judgements should therefore be more ground based on realistic situations than completely guided by ideal equations.

RASH DRIVING...................

Its not the first time that the teenagers in their youthful glory have been on the pyre of immaturity, experimentations, exploring the fun of life and ending up with the thick smoke of undefining the limits. This is quite natural a human tendency to follow the easy way than put one's wisdom to use in determining the pros and cons. That's what youth is. An urge to explore all that one can lay his hands on, a feeling of adulthood----where if one can vote at 18--why can't he decide to drink or not-------the arguement often exploded by the nouveau savvy anchors like Barkha Dutt and weave into national debates, hopp on to a few celebrities who are ever so amused to rake up the fundamental issues and moral police the society of its rights -----forgetting that such rights are life-threatening when not encapsuled with the duties that preceed it.

Well I am sure Barkha Dutt and her media folks have a new topic for their weekly debates and sure its going to push the TRPs as it touches every household and sensiblites of human nature. Haven't we been witnesses to holy scriptures read out by the likes Vijay Mallaya to harp on the "right to decide to drink or not " issue to the concerned individual and his fervent appeals which are as measured in shrinking proportions as the scantly dressed women he enjoys to be potographed with- that we continously keep seeing mothers shedding their tears or people being orhaned by such ruthless drunk brats whom possibly Vijay Mallaya has not been able to convince his favourite holy mantras of --DON'T DRINK WHILE DRIVING, DRINK SENSIBLY, DRIVE WITHIN THE LIMITS, DRINK GOOD BRANDS obviously KINGFISHER and blaa blaa......The kind of educatve drinking which he religiously proposes and deftly articultes to forward his line of business is nothing but a good media joke which he never misses to exploit on his T.V. jaunts........If that be so K.PS. GILL or the latest case of a DIG molesting an IAS Vandana Preyasi on a mooving train apart from the daily quota of young spoiled brats killing people on the roads wouldn't have been occuring at so thundering and deafening a speed that the next venture turns out to be the mortury..................
Is it at the first place to say that IPS officers or for that matter the affluent educateed parents of these teenagers aren't capable enough of understanding and demarcating b/n utter nonsense in drunk driving and DRIVE SENSIBLELY or DRINK WISELY themes of the protagonist in the likes of Mallaya and company. Forget about the accused getting killed for whom my sympathies are as good as extinct but how about the innocent people they drag and run over.
In the Gurgaon hit and run case which media highlighted so well and then subsequently found the follow-ups against the TRP current, the father of an accused driving a luxury car making a guard loose both his legs was shamelessly putting a tag of 50,000 as compensation citing his financial crisis as an excuse.

Well the point is -------------how long and how far can this utter disregard of the rights fervently taken on the plea of fundamental rights be allowed to be mocked by the inefficiency of the law enforcing agencies coupled with the human insensitivity??????????????????????

POLICE.........GEM in a COAL MINE....NEERAJ KUMAR........

The usual, rather a total lack of faith in Delhi police by the general public is something that does not need to be stressed, it is a self cultivated image that the men in uniform have acquired or rather let themselves to acquire by the rampant corruption, inefficiency, shabby investigations, unwillingness, insensitivity --name a vice and that would be in its crown.

As is the law of nature, there sure is a silver lining somewhere, but the fact is--it remains submerged in the totality of its continuous deteriorating image. We as humans have forgotten the gospel of appreciation and get the best out of the rest so that others follow an example and improve upon the image of the police in general. We become oblivious of the fact that there still are some elements of high integrity, impeccable track-record, honesty, an epitome of excellent public-relations not to what I call-- the influential garbage (why garbage---as 1/5 th of Indian Parliamentarians have criminal records ranging from murders, rapists to being traitors of our motherland etc), that rules the the world's largest democracy but to the common un-influential citizens; a pristine class of upright officers who wouldn't even bend when others would gladly crawl. NEERAJ KUMAR, Sp. Police Comm. is one such gem in the coal mine of Delhi Police who has managed to safeguard his shine even through the turbulence of his career that must have offered him easy pathways of temptations and arrogance of power.

Its precisely because of dedication and uprightness of such police officers in higher echelons that Delhi Police commands some kind of kindling faith among that mitigating percentage of population having a semblance of confidence in it.

`We must be appreciative of what deserves appreciation for that would be an encouraging factor for those species of upright red blooded men in khaki and provide them the oxygen of admiration so that they perform with their consciousness in its right place rather than the rest of the green blooded force that is but a slur on humanity .

In the suffocating environment that a police officer has to perform and in fact pocket more of brickbats rather than flowers which they rarely deserve, the fragrance of the true appreciation and the purity of oxygen in the form of encouraging the upright officers would surely strengthen the lungs of our force and make it more people oriented rather than just sloganeering as has been its wont.NEERAJ KUMAR HAS BEEN A GEM IN THE CROWN AND AN OFFICER WORTHY OF PUBLIC APPRECIATION. THE HIDDEN TALENT IN POLICE MUST BE GROOMED if a lawless society is to be avoided.

CALLOUSNESS..........OPEN MANHOLES,,,,,,,,,

The recent spate of a series of kids falling into the manholes and open gutters with volumes of media coverage and VIPs hogging the lmelight doesn't seem to put our neck on the shoulder. MCD's once a year cleaning of drains leaving the garbage and stinking silt piled up for 4-5 days on the roads even when rains are in full swing with many a slabs been broken and manholes remaining uncovered is in itself a criminal dereliction of duty.

But whose going to bell the cat .......would such a bell(ing) be required if such an exercise is taken on the roads of Luteyn's Delhi. For one like Shiela Dixit an obituary and some kind words on a message to the nation is a well acquainted exercise....

Rightly.....MERA BHARAT MAHAAN...........

GOVT. and HUMAN INSENSITIVITY.............

The famous and popular 7yr CHUNMUN alias chuhia captured on UNICEF's poster when she was a 4yr old and splashed all over the state finds all govt. promises of free education and monetary help as a mirage on a sunny desert. She after loosing her father to cancer is back as a maid in samastipur district.

The million dollar smile having vanished, she realised quite early in life how the true and hard realities of practical POLITICS ridicule one's emotions and values and how conveniently public memory swings to the next ladder when the news becomes stale and unmarketable.

WELL ISN'T THAT CHEERS to the INDIAN DEMOCRACY..............

ANOTHER GEETANJALI NAGPAL of govt.'s apathy..........Isn't it....

CALLOUSNESS--------DANGEROUS ROADS.........

The usual sight of long iron rods for construction or big-big pipes on the rickshaws and two wheelers extending outwards on the roads encroaching much on the open road space is as fatal as anyone could imagine. The incidents when the rods have penetrated or hit the victims causing accidents and deaths are not common.

Do we need a major incident involving a few deaths and media highlighting it every day for the law enforcement agencies to wake up from their inefficiency and unvisionary slumber or let the things go the way they are -------well aren't we a kind of society tht's synonymous with the --- "CHALTAA hai CULTURE ".

GOD BLESS THE ROAD USERS..

JUDICIAL ACQUITTALS........and POLICE APATHY...

The near about lethargic investigations until the media sponsors a case and the further insensitivity with which courts work recording almost all hostile witnesses leading to the acquittals of the culprits is the reason that our crime graph never seems to diminish. The encouragement thus emboldens these culprits to put their hand in more lucrative looking big crimes knowing well they know this constable or some SHO or some bigwig.................

Well remember police will harp on one slogan------shortage of constables or vacancies not filled up...not realising that a dozen offload of bricks outside a remotest flat would have two constables for their share of currency within an hour.....or keeping three to five constables and head constables running for home errands or ferrying relatives to the nearby markets of even the inspector levels.

But the fact is how long will this continue.............the acquittals and the excuses..............THE CRIME WILL KEEP RISING...............

POLICE------GEM IN A COAL MINE...........

As we find ourselves in a deluge of messed up police investigations and inaction by the corrupt, inefficient and politically aligned police force...where criticism and media beating has become the order of the day, we forget to appreciate those who have an impeccable, honest and upright record bereft of any controversay spanning their entire carear in as razor edge a job that has tempting deviations at each turn.
Although the numerics may be too less as against the rotten apples in the IPS basket, the very presence of them intensifies common man's faith in the police force. Perhaps its because of such people who have stayed away in crawling the criminalised political system where even bending was not required and maintained thier grace and decorum that the foundation of police is somewhat unshaked even if it has suffered quite a few quqkes

The dog menance................

As i was coming home yesterday ,about 10 dogs in a defiant mood held all passerbys to ransom. As one of them pounced towards a 6yr old child, his parents shoowed it with their sleepers and the stones when again it tried to follow them. Now can this be termed as ---CRUELTY TO ANIMALS-----by the media hogging protectors of pet lovers......who find themselves lost in the line that demarcates cruelty and the normal action to keep these stray dogs away.

The Police Apathy----Do we deserve democracy.

The recent suicide of a rape victim in front of the ADGP in Police Hqs. over inaction taken by the police in arresting the two rapist constables over the last 3 months even after repeated representations made to all senior officers-SP, SSP and IGP shows the scant regard for human life and insensitivity of the Indian police in protecting the interests of the people it is paid to protect. Mere transfers that also when the final whistle is blown in the form of the woman ending her life speaks low of the administration's sense of judgement in penalising the errant officers in proportion to their inaction that cost a loss of life in so desperate a way as to consume pesticides for the suicide.

Either their is something desperately wrong in the selection procedure to the civil services or the politicisation of bureaucracy once the supposed to be the cream of our youth enters the services that insensitivity, inaction, lethargy, failure to deliver, corruption and all other vices inflict the persona of the officer. The inability to stand up to the tempting deviations leads to the corrosion of the efficiency and justice delivery process.

And is it not happening almost all over the 32 lac 86 thousand sq. km of Indian territory. Is it not the height of human insensitivity that first we allow things to spoil to their best and then tighten our waist up to act tough. Is it not a habit with us that the honest police officers are kept on the radar of the govt. and instead of appreciating their work they are put on insipid posts. Dint Y.P. Singh of IPS resign because he refused to go with the corruption, criminalisation and politicisation of the force and instead took to law as his career.

Their is a deeper genesis in it. The unwillingness of the C.M. whose minister's son was convicted in a murder case to drop him from the cabinet for a long time cements the obnoxious nexus of criminals and politicians which results in such aberrations and gives boost to the culprits of all hues to carry on their nefarious activities without the fear of being punished.

The recent picture of the culprit constable beeming a big smile to the media on his arrest speaks the kind of remorse for which the activists of human rights cry at the top of their voices once the capital punishment is meted out to these culprits. In fact such a crime by the protectors of law and order must be dealt with a heavy hand even if it requires to hang them on the street crossing. The inefficient justice and high rate of acquittals has not been a deterrent of the least denominator.

DOG-MENANCE

With a spurt in street dog population, living in one's own house and using the same roads which one has been using for ages has nothing but become more draconian. 8-10 dogs in one street, at times running ferociously and at times barking when you just enter the street and then running as if it to pounce on you until you ward them off attentively, fighting among themselves aggressively not allowing one dog to enter the other's street, blasting barks at the dead of the night letting the world know that their population at that point of time outnumbers the human population, people feeding them right on the streets causing spreading off the food-stuff all over, dogs snatching away the garbage when the sweeper piles it--the worst being taking out the used sanitary pads and diapers and then spilling them into smithereens and spreading it all over the street-the obnoxious sight and smell of which will even make Maneka Gandhi run into bouts of vomiting, spilling the left-over food stuff packets from the garbage and letting the germs spread in the environment.

The best part is the people choosing to feed the dogs according to its colour--the white or the black as dear panditji would have told after seeing the horoscope------well ISN'T IT RACIAL DISCRIMINATION AND DIDN'T OUR FATHER OF THE NATION FIGHT IT , isn't it cruelty to animals to choose them as per their colour and feed them denying the equally capable left out dog his fundamental right to FEED HIMSELF, the sight of dogs licking at drain water and satisfying his thrust and hunger from the obnoxious and stinking garbage, well isn't this the worst form of CRUELTY,,,,but are the media hogging and self protectors of animal rights bereft of all this.

The most dangerous cruelty to HUMANS by the DOGS is when they run wildly after showing up from the bushes or the corners after the scooterists and bikers are spotted on the roads causing sudden distraction and loss of balance when they see the dogs suddenly running after their vehicles.

HAVEN'T WE READ STREET DOGS MAULING THE INFANTS AND KILLING THEM AFTER TRYING TO EAT THEM ..................HAS HUMAN-LIFE become so cheap that even shooing a dog be it a rabies one is catapulted to cruelty by the much eccentric class of citizens whose only job is pin-pricking.........

It must be noted that I profess no cruelty to animals in any genuine form. Saving oneself or shooing it when the dog leaps on you let it be with a stick and misinterpreting it as cruelty robs the genuine desire or inclination of any sensible human being to be benevolent to animals. I have been myself actively involved in KARE (KINDNESS TO ANIMALS AND RESPECT FOR ENVIRONMENT) in my college days and even used to meet the area DCP s to give our representation on the real cruelty and not COOKED UP IMAGINATIONS AND EXAGGERATIONS.....by some idle pin prickers whose interest is not in the real welfare of the animals but to maintain their presence for a bubble of publicity................

HAVENT WE BECOME TOO CYNICAL IN OUR APPROACH....................thts what one must ponder over..........................

PONDS Rs.295/- offer anti-wrinkle cream.....

It sounds strange to me,,,,,,,Ponds age-miracle cream was launched long back ( ABOUT ONE AND A HALF YEAR BACK) , at Rs. 450 ..... after a few months it was increased to Rs. 525 .................When another competitor OIL OF OLAY launced its anti wrinkle age effect cream,,,ponds sensing tough competition reduced its price to Rs. 295.

That's marketeting ...agreed but Ponds advertisement on T.V. saying it's an introductory offer after launching many-many months back with a price that was almost double and then hiking it as well to about 10%, ridicules all marketing standards........They could promote it as lavishly and spending as many crores on advertisements ..but ethically they should have done it saying ...that the price has been slashed rather than as introductory offer which in itself can not be termed as " introductory " after so many months and even after going for a 10% increase at an initial stage.

At the first place---- is it not overpricing before an equally renowned international brand hits the market....................what was the locus -standii of such pricing and after so much sales-ABOUT 1 CRORE AND 36 LACS ON A SINGLE DAY IN March this year ,,,making people pay exhorbitantly, how can the company justify on the excuse of INTRODUCTORY OFFER. Is it not unfair and dubious marketing......??????????????

WE SHOULD NOT ALLOW OURSELVES TO BE LOOTED SO BLATANTLY .Or by keeping silent should we ??????????????

DANGEROUS DRIVING ...............

The cattle and buffaloes running on the roads r a menace,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and surprisingly no one seems bothered until an accident occurs.........
The cattle holding the road to ransom ...sometimes 5-10 of them is a great inconvenience and threat to the life , causes accidents...running cow scaring a child and knocking him down........causing bikes to skid, SHOULDN'T WE GROW OUT OF IT..................

There is a Supreme court order as well,,,,,,,,,,,,TO TAKE COWS AND CATTLE OFF THE ROADS.......but i dont find activists like Maneka Gandhi
coming to their rescue. Isnt it cruelty to animals with a man on scooter smashing them with sticks and making them run....ISN'T IT CRUELTY TO ROAD-USERS AS WELL , but who is bothered until some accident occurs killing people and making headlines..............

CO2 choking the lungs ............

Delhi has the max. no. of registered vehicles among all metropolitan cities. Cars and two-wheelers contribute to 60% of the total co2 load. The total co2 emission from cars has increased by 73% and that from two-wheelers by 61% b/n 2002 and 2007.

Aren't we creating our own grave a bit too soon.........

DRINKS---U.K. parents to teach children -"how to drink"

look the way we are going......A time has come when one has to teach the kids how much to safely drink rather than to impress upon --WHY TO DRINK ?????????? ....
What it gives is degradation of the whole sysytem, failure of various organs, ulcers, vomittings, indigestion, blood in the sputam, swelling in the body ,,,,,and lots of money down the drain ..........say 10-20 lacs.........

So my dear friendz .....drink and drink so much so as to explore oneself as any liberal would do ----but keep enough cash reserved, a new hubby for your wife and a new father for your children,------- for havent we seen --------in the garb of adulthood ,youth, fundamental rights, wisdom to chose b/n right and wrong...... we as a human have failed to be within the limts......

Drunk driving has taken thousands of lives not only of the drunken brats but of the innocents as wellllllll

ISN'T IT TIME ,,WE SHOULD OPENLY SAY NO BEFORE WE ORPHAN MORE CHILDREN AND WIDOW MORE WOMEN...........FOR JUST A FEW MOMENTS OF ---FEELING "HIGH " ................

HUMAN-insesitivity,,BOMBAY RAINS...

The first spell of monsoons has fizzled administrations claims of a better situation during rains.
Where as Bombay still is submerged into its monstrous problems created over a long period owing to corruption, the unvisionary stance of the politicians except for hogging the media limelights has done nothing but encroachments and other illegalities being legalized. Its disgusting , whereas 5000 old Indus and Harappan civilisation flourished with a world class drainage system, the remnants of which have survived this long-the 21st century technology and human-insensitivity cant even hold the first spell of rains.

And to top it all, some so called prominent and patriotic marathis moving under the shadows of z-plus category have not seen beyond inflammating and communalising the issues, create a stir that shows their low common-sense and high arrogance, some mileage on the news channels to keep their name and face afresh in the people's mind, getting a few people killed in the name of marathi mantra and chanting Shivaji's name sentilising to the extent of hypnotising the public -and then getting the whole city to a grinding halt causing inconvenience to millions of people, dripping state's revenue, burning public and private property, resulting in thousands of crores of losses in terms of money and human resources. The paucity of any serious implementations in the direction of constructive and progressive line taking care of city's shabby transport, broken roads, water loggings, traffic jams, crime , murders, rapes, eve-teasing, kidnappings, rash and drunk driving, prostitution, children dropping out of the schools, gambling, old buildings crumbling down, etc.etc. is the only reason to subjugate human existence to the levels of street animals.
Its a shame to our very birth in human yoni to fight and live like wild animals, divide the nation on the lines of region, religion, caste, creed, language and then gloat over and laugh it over. The Thackerays should read between the lines before creating any unproductive controversy and then patching up with a glee not realising how many people or how much property is damaged before the curse of the people whom they exploit on the lines of marathi mantra or shivaji's name boomerangs on their fate. Taking up at least one project at a time in improving the quality of the living standards of the citizens would be a better tribute to Shivaji rather than killing people on the streets while they themselved move in heavy security.

THE RAINS UNTIL THEN WOULD KEEP ERODING THE BOMBAY oops THE MUMBAI PITCH.

current-affrairs--HIKED PETROL----THE AUSTERITY DRIVE...........

WHY DO WE AT TIMES BEHAVE LIKE AN INFANT.................

The recent petrol hike once again prompted all and sundry to be the guardians and promoters of the austerity drive. Everybody is ready with a deluge of suggestions from the PM office to the ads. in media prompting people to dawn the clout of wisdom , patriotism , and be environmentally sensitive -- the shelf-life of such morally high histrionics being no more before another big news hitting the stands and hypnotising the viewers --for we all know is how short public memory always has been.

The legislators and MPs not long ago have been visiting foreign lands on the pretext of some reformative project or so and have found themselves landing at the casinos and discos, dancing to the tune of imported bellies and gulping down a few pegs ---all that at the great GOVT. OF INDIA's expenses. Oscar Fernandes has been on long jaunts not with his minitrial officials but with his chamchaas, the ministers vying each-other to break the records and spend the maximum summer in the warmth of international arena, the recent report of judges on foreign trips --courtsey THE GOVT. OF INDIA 's kind gestures, commerce minister spending 14 months out of 42 months of UPA govt., 1 crore kms of travel by UPA ministers, and then bandhs and dharnas, dismantlling railway tracks, stalling work at ports and airports, burning national and private property, damaging factories , public transport, forceful closure of shops, flights, buses and trains cancelled.............................losses to the tune of thousands of crores -----------------------------WHO SAYS WE NEED AUSTERITY ................or just is it another PLOY TO HOODWINK THE PUBLIC to the totality of misfunctioning of any govt .that comes to power. Is it not the impotency of our democracy or the loopholes that we create in the system to fill our coffers or how else would Mulayam, Lalu, Mayawati and Paswasn after floundering crores and crores be still on the power seats. ----------where is our austerity drive then.

The recent extravaganza and the touch of opulence given by the Delhi Mayor in spending and decorating her office in a manner that attracted major news headlines negates the very purpose of the austerity drive or is it to say until slapped on the face none of our legislators and MPs realize the need what our economy needs and how judiciously and wisely the money is to be spend,,,,,,,well are they judicious or wise enough at the first place -----is something that needs a great thought. The induction of cavalcade of cars ---the luxurious ones with the change of govt. in the state or centre running into crores indicates the vacum in which our political setup works.

The garbage on the roads ,the spilling dhaloas on the road sides extending to middle of the road , stinking air because of the polluting functionaries on the roadsides like the cloth dyeing or ac.repair shops that use toxic gasses and colours , the eve-teasers and hooligans accumulating in the dhabas nearby and passing lewd remarks makes it deterrant for the people to walk on the roads and instead take out their cars even for a short household errands.

Before preaching and spelling out the sermons , it must be seen if their are viable options that are people friendly. Just sticking out one's neck once in a while in the voter game tamasha....the ground level realities and penancing attitude at the ruling level must be adhered to to set an example rather than issuing directives once the hammer is stuck.

HEALTH--pan masala MORE harmful than cigarettes.

Pan masala despite its lower nicotine content is more harmful than cigarettes and beedis. NICOTINE content in cigarettes is FOUR times higher than in pan-masala but the greater intake of tobacco during chewing makes the latter more DANGEROUS.

Even though nicotine content in chewing tobacco ranges from 2.6-4.1 milligram for each gram of tobacco as compared to 15 mg cigarettes per gram , chewing tobacco 7-8 times a day is equivalent of smoking 30-40 cigarettes per day. The odds of contracting ORAL CANCER is 7.3 in smokers, 1.2 in alcoholics and 11.4 in tobacco chewers. This explains the fact --CHEWING TOBACCO IS THE MOST DREADED AMONG THE THREE.

TOBACCO CHEWERS absorb the toxins through the oral cavity and the gastrointestinal tract , making it more dangerous.Harmful carcinogens like tobacco-specific N-nitrosamine, which are present in pan masala, are readily extracted in saliva and the absorption is boosted in the alkaline atmosphere of the stomach and intestines.

Even the nicotine content is not printed on tobacco products sold all over the country which should be made compulsory.

HEALTH---nutritious value of COCONUT.

COCONUT is a very old plant, believed to have evolved more than 15 million years ago. Plant fossils dating back to that age have been found. The plant evolved in Papua New Guinea and the nut was carried to the far-flung shores of South East Asia , and became part of the land-scape long before it was inhabited.

COCONUT is highly nutritious. The fleshy part is used as a tonic for the people of poor health. Fresh coconut and the fleshy part contain huge amounts of Potassium, phosphorous, Iron, magnesium and zinc. It is very high in FIBRE content. Its a coolant and is treated in fevers, urinary disorders, and to purify blood. It is also good for acidity and nausea . The milky pulp of a green coconut is recommended for people suffering from malnutrition and general debility. It is also used in dehydration. The pulp of the nut acts like a laxative and is used to expel tapeworms.

But it is high in saturated fats which can lead to heart problems. Avoid cooking meat in as it will add to the saturated fat content of the dish.

HEALTH----SMOKING............

SMOKING CAUSES HAIR LOSS

Smoking accelerates hair loss. It is also linked to premature greying.Last year ,a study of 740 men in Taiwan --both smokers and non-smokers found a greater rate of hair loss among the smokers , a risk that grew with the quantity they smoked ......

so ladies watch out, next time you need to think before venturing out to the docter,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ARE YOU THE CULPRIT..................

HEALTH--------------BEER AGRAVATES STONE FORMATION in kidney.

There is a strong belief that beer helps to dissolve stone in the kidney. Even educated people have fallen prey to this. Beer does help in flushing out toxins from our bodies but the fact is beer is just barley water that gives the same effect as normal water or for that effect like any other liquid. Water alone helps our body to expel 2-2.25 litres of urine per day which helps to flush out the smaller stones from our system.

But beer does more harm than good. People susceptible to stones have a high OXALATE and URIC acid content in their body.Beer also is high on these two contents which only intensifies the risk of developing kidney stones.

Men are more prone to stone formation in the kidney by virtue of their urinary system----their bladder outlet is more resistant and hence does not dilate enough to flush out stones. STONE FORMATION ALSO OCCURS DUE TO METABOLIC ABNORMALITIES. And for the people living in the hilly areas the frequency to drink less water also leads to stone formation. People in desert areas sweat profusely, thereby disallowing water to flush out of the kidneys making them more prone to stone formation .Recurrent urine infections also raise the risk of stones.

NOIDA POLICE 's handling ARUSHI's case.

The bizarre way in which Noida Police handled the double murder case shows how pathetic is the functioning of our protectors of law or IS THIS AGAIN ONE GLARING EXAMPLE OF RESERVATIONS AND SYCOPHANCY SHOWING ITS FANGS OUT. The abysmal standards and primitive methods of investigations more on the lines of " laalaa" kind of culture that also after good 48 hrs. of tasting the flak from all quarters has put a question mark on the viability and the need to some serious thinking rather than lip service to the alternative of present type of set-up.
A day is not far when even the IPS would have a minimum qualification of MBA to manage the police force and the investigations in a more scientific way. The more imaginative two tier theory without any concrete evidence to malign both the girl and the father even if one of them proves out to be true was a skin saving short cut assumed by no less than the so called IGP ,whose very calibre to the top slot comes under a cloud.

The recent incident has also shown the falling dagger over their heads due to politcal allignments. On one hand if the need to have a free hand has been the demanding voice of the civil society, the ever so eager civil servants bending and crawling even when there is no smoke needs to be looked into. For any society to be on a progressive mode the standards of professioanal conduct in the public domain where sensitivity is the chore issue have to be maintained. If our so called leaders would have stressed in improving the quality of administration rather than organising bandhs and dharnas on politically defunct topics things would have been much better in place.

SANJAY DUTT in politics.

WE HAVE BECOME TOO SHAMELESS A DEMOCRACY as to allow twists of cunning intentions be overridden on sympathy waves --first to generate public euphoria by sentimentalising the issues and then ridding on the very hyped-up public adrenaline to the seats of power.

What a shrewd thought to take the nation for granted. A maniac of the past , a rowdy of his times ,a spoiled brat accused of drugs and armaments ,underworld links, accused of waging a war on the state,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,whatever be the reason of his involvement ............................ should such a convict be treated so lightly as to overturn public's celebrity sympathy into minting political immunity.

After all that media limelight and sudden realisation of 100's of crores invested in these celebrities, arousing family passions, pending family commitments including who would take care of his daughter studying abroad , and the tears that rolled from the admirers of his iconic parents -the blue eyed spoiled boy instead of retreating and thanking his stars for the kindness showered on his horoscopic lines has ventured into a more cynical gameplan.
That the likes of Amar Singhs and the traitor in Abu Azmi has considered giving him a ticket if congress denies him one is a startling testimony of how the loopholes in law can actually see fortunes taking a turn.
I am sure the day is not too far when we have the most wanted but innocent until proved DAWOOD be the next President and Abu Azmi the next Vice-President . After all haven't we said and roared time amd again ---------THESE GENTLEMEN HAVE THE INHERENT RIGHT TO FUNDAMENTAL VALUES AND DIGNITY OF LABOUR and exploit the loopholes in law ------courtsey------the likes of Majid Memom , R.K.Anand and Ram Jethmalani----------THE WORD IMPOSSIBLE IS MISSING IN OUR DICTIONARY.

IITians despite all odds.

A private institute which does not charge anything and has poorest of the poor as its students run by philanthropists including a top IPS Abhaynandan, creates history as all 30 of its under-privileged clear the one of the world's toughest entrance exams....................

ISN'T IT A SLAP ON THE FACE OF likes of Arjun Singh's ,lalu's,Paswan's and now Bainsala that progress is achieved on the wings of labour and hard-work rather than slogan shoutings and cheap politics of 49% reservations.

Interestingly ARJUN SINGH's PERSONAL STAFF of 10 people doesn't have even a single reserved category officer. And the man himself has a dowry harassment case against him and his family as well..............................SO GREAT A THOUGHT TO STICK TO THE CHAIR...Shouldn't charity began at home....................Mr.Arjun Singh. At least some lesson to be learned from the younger ones who tasted success the way it should be.........but is anyone listening or Arjun Singh is busy in Gandhi sycophancy and Bainsala nurturing his political dreams....................well tht's the way perhaps a country be held to ransom.

The Gujjar Dilemma

Taking law has become a prestige issue for the elderly novice leaders.Perhaps the self-eulogised community's saviour-obsession in them sparks the flames of confrontation and agitations rather than a meaningful, constructive, progressive stance ---taking the social standing of the community into a recession. The recent summons to Bainsala are a glaring instances of his dareness to take law into their own hands and expect to be acquitted by igniting the caste flame. It is more than providing fodder to the more opportunistic non-entities like LJP and BSP who are ever ready to take the bait.

The arrogance and insensitivity of the issue can well be gauged by their euphoria about the no. of dead in the agitation.Where even the constitutional law provides that hundred culprits be freed so that not even a single innocent is convicted, the value with which these perpetrators of community service measure human life is no more than dogs and donkeys.

The issue of reservation has an interesting cap to it.The Gujjars are already in the OBC which has 27% reservation and STs a mere7.5%, which means they already have been reaping the benefits .That they have not been able to attain the standards to achieve even the minimum calibre to exploit the benefit of these reservations was exemplified by even the wealthy and well off landlords in Delhi who still believe swinging of their lathis and using abusive language a better prospect rather than swinging their heads and brains in academic and career oriented profiles. To accord them the reservation status would be the most laughable joke of the century. In any community leaving the genuinely backward clusters that need to be strengthened infra-structurally, it is basically not the money but the discipline to spend that money and the attitude towards the constructive approach to nation building --that is the call of the 21st century.

The other aspect is the infighting amongst themselves to walk away with the cake. The impunity with which Meenas have forged their status from a particular village where the genuine villagers don't even know what reservations are- to get into medical ,engineering, and civil services needs to be delved into and see if even the quota assigned to them is any longer viable. After all --wasn't reservation supposed to be a time bound -10 or 20 year adjustment.Well the sweeter the tea is than it should be the deserving takers vain out.

AND THAT 5-10% CAN HOLD THE WHOLE NATION TO A HIJACKING OF SORTS is a sad commentary to the success of our democracy. The object should be to reach to the deserving and downtrodden irrespective of the castes and regions. That's the way to be out of this dilemma.
