POLICE.........GEM in a COAL MINE....NEERAJ KUMAR........

The usual, rather a total lack of faith in Delhi police by the general public is something that does not need to be stressed, it is a self cultivated image that the men in uniform have acquired or rather let themselves to acquire by the rampant corruption, inefficiency, shabby investigations, unwillingness, insensitivity --name a vice and that would be in its crown.

As is the law of nature, there sure is a silver lining somewhere, but the fact is--it remains submerged in the totality of its continuous deteriorating image. We as humans have forgotten the gospel of appreciation and get the best out of the rest so that others follow an example and improve upon the image of the police in general. We become oblivious of the fact that there still are some elements of high integrity, impeccable track-record, honesty, an epitome of excellent public-relations not to what I call-- the influential garbage (why garbage---as 1/5 th of Indian Parliamentarians have criminal records ranging from murders, rapists to being traitors of our motherland etc), that rules the the world's largest democracy but to the common un-influential citizens; a pristine class of upright officers who wouldn't even bend when others would gladly crawl. NEERAJ KUMAR, Sp. Police Comm. is one such gem in the coal mine of Delhi Police who has managed to safeguard his shine even through the turbulence of his career that must have offered him easy pathways of temptations and arrogance of power.

Its precisely because of dedication and uprightness of such police officers in higher echelons that Delhi Police commands some kind of kindling faith among that mitigating percentage of population having a semblance of confidence in it.

`We must be appreciative of what deserves appreciation for that would be an encouraging factor for those species of upright red blooded men in khaki and provide them the oxygen of admiration so that they perform with their consciousness in its right place rather than the rest of the green blooded force that is but a slur on humanity .

In the suffocating environment that a police officer has to perform and in fact pocket more of brickbats rather than flowers which they rarely deserve, the fragrance of the true appreciation and the purity of oxygen in the form of encouraging the upright officers would surely strengthen the lungs of our force and make it more people oriented rather than just sloganeering as has been its wont.NEERAJ KUMAR HAS BEEN A GEM IN THE CROWN AND AN OFFICER WORTHY OF PUBLIC APPRECIATION. THE HIDDEN TALENT IN POLICE MUST BE GROOMED if a lawless society is to be avoided.
