BOMBINGS..17 blasts in a day.....

The bomb explosions in Bangalore and Ahmedabad, that also when red-alert notices had been issued speak volumes on the failure of the police to instill a level of confidence in the people. There's not a day when this great nation of ours hasn't been without terror, arsony or a bomb expolsion. President's condolences, P.M.'s expression of grief, Rajdeep Sardersai's Mumbai spirit after the Mumbai blasts, meetings and red-alerts ..............tht is where the whole episode keeps revolving before another sensational tragedy strikes....................

It is basically the sum total of all the factors that remain tangently active before taking the shape of a tragedy. Corruption, unwillingness, manipulation is what needs to be taken care off. ........or else some more explosions are in the offing. And human life as it is has become more cheaper than a glass of water......and for the parties to be on the blame game,,,,,,,,,,,,well nothing unusual--- to bake the cake in the political heat.

LEFT GOING BERSEK.....

The CPI (M) 's decision to expel its four decade old comrade and presently the speaker of the LOK SABHA is nothing short of comparing to a street dog going mad, running after people and biting them. The left's eccentric outburst has in fact opened up a new debate as to the sincerity of such parties. POWER CORRUPTS ..COMPLETE POWER CORRUPTS COMPLETELY. The Left having tasted the power of being a king-maker seems to have lost its mental equilibrium when basking in such glory. The time and again pin-pricks in any policy decision of the Govt. was taking its toll. Expelling the seasoned politician with 5 decades of public life is a nail that CPI has put in its own coffin. It has beseiged itself with a kind of halo that Deve Gowda now finds himslef in after pulling down the then Govt. Talibanization of the party by the meeky-squeeky Karat and company will unfold its true colours but what they did so disgracefully to Somnath has earned them a blot which they possibly would find hard to eraze,,,,,,,

LAWLESSNESS ON DELHI's ROADS

That we are living in the capital of this country which is being shaken by the point-blank range shoot-outs and killings becoming the vogue, little needs to be written about the rectifying script the top-cop of Delhi seems to hold.

The killing of 8 people in 7 days by the gang of guys, now termed as Biker's Gang has shaken the police out of its deep slumber. Delhi as such has never been quite a treat to be discussed even though the police Commissioner sadly enough came out with the statistics which badly point a rosy picture in terms of controlled crime growth. That more than 300% cases refused to be registered as FIR's in the first place by the respective SHO's and the local pulling of strings required to push the matter---- puts the Delhi police in a tight and dubious spot. A recent case where Dr. Tomar was murderously attacked by the known criminals and had 35 stitches done on him saw some pressure from the higher-ups for the case to be registered as FIR and then the sections applied were so very well manipulated as if to believe that the attackers were state-sponsored. The shocking manner in which the police con cotted a story of the attack and then later drew up a compromising plan to avoid a FIR being registered for murder belies the rosy picture that Mr. Dadwal valiantly tried to put-up.

The sharp increase in the over all crime ,,,,,be it chain-snatching right from outside one's house, to cycles and two wheelers being stolen, day-light robberies, murders, sattas being played, rash driving, triple and sometimes stunt-laden bikers, booze openly in the cars after 6 p.m., VIP sirens flashed loudly,,,,,,the list is unending............is all due to active connivance of the police and sharing of the bounty of the loot. The open use of drugs right under its nose lays the foundation of the crime that takes a monstrous proportion in the later days.

Otherwise how does one explain a local channel bursting of the crime, 100 mts away from the police station where police still keeps staring at the stars. The worst part is the local workers of the various political outfits like the BJP, CONGRESS or the BSP who graduate to the don levels in the area and openly threaten with dire consequences if one tries to come in their way. The sale of addictive material outside the gates of the police station and the usual response that people should take care-- are the most disgusting comments heard....in which case the point arises ----what exactly is the role and how well equipped is the police to tackle the situation and if at all the onus has to be on the public ...then where does the viability of the police stand? Agreed police cant reach every nook and corner of the city but how does one explain the constables dutifully making their presence felt even when two dozen bricks are unloaded anywhere in these very lanes, for greasing their palms.

Until and unless the corruption is not checked in its very cadres, the situation in any part of the country will never improve. The guts of the criminals in killing people walking down the road and looting of the shops with police being a mute spectator armed with only the excuses up their sleeves..let it be the shortage of the staff or blaming the people ......will only see a further rise in crime until a strong will-power without an eye on the wards of currency notes is imbibed in the force at all levels.

No amount of rosy paintings by Mr.Dadwal can camouflage the crime nexus of police and criminals until some tough and no-nonsense attitude like KIRAN BEDI's guts and ingeniousness to take strong and affirmative steps ( beyond keeping the babus of the Ministry pleased with posting of constables outside their bungalows ).... are adopted with a fiery speed, until which time Delhi will keep burning while The Nero's of the administration keep dancing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.................

WOMEN,,,,,,THE UNABATED CRIME RATE........ASSAM REPORT.

The horrifying figures never seem to be placate. The recent report of the Assam Govt. seem to strengthen the monstrous situation on the ground. The number of dowry cases has risen from 1,307 in 2001 to 3,063 in 2007; 990 cases have been registered until the month of May. Similarly, cases of rape have risen from 785 in 2001 to 1,311 in 2007 with 505 till May.
Apart from this consider all those cases which would have gone unreported.

Now my point is where are all the parties ( who swear by the ideals of our departed leaders giving them good turns in their graves ) that shout at the top of their voices and have mastered the art of bringing the whole city to a stand still, the ones who ransack and loot the public property and the ones who put on the veil of moral policing and thrash the valentine spirit doing ---for this ever alarming, ever increasing malaise that in a way is a result of their goonda politics.

Where are the likes of Sushma Swaraj who would shave her head for the vague issues but would be bereft of such atrocities except for their one-liners rehearsed over and over again to different news channels.
And as this news flashed was another case of sexual harassment of a lady officer against her superiors in the army.
Its basically the lack of will that is the reason for the alarming rise. We still see black-tainted cars hovering all over even when Supreme Court has ruled strict guidelines in this matter. Hasn't Delhi been the shameful city where a spurt of cases in which women walking on the roads have been simply pulled inside the black-tainted cars and raped in turns and then thrown naked on the streets. Has rash driving coupled with evening beer bottles not the cause to escalate the crime graph. Thanks to the magnetic personality of Vijay Mallayas,Mahesh Bhatts and Suhel Seths who do not miss one chance to propagate the fundamental rights issues without underlying the responsibility denominator to it that has vitiated the whole scenario. The dragging of cases with extended dates by the unvisionary magistrates has surely boosted the crime rise. The eve-teasing by the school-kids grouping at the street corners at the age where they should be inside their classes is the foundation of the crime against women.
No amount of holding press-conferences and releasing reports is going to check the rising problem. What is required by this land of 1.2 billion is the moral-will to do and act, otherwise be prepared to read another article with a change of place and characters...............from Assam to perhaps a new destination.............

RESERVATION DEMON IN ST. STEPHENS...........

I am disappointed....and disgruntled to see St. Stephens fall a prey into the hands of what we already are seeing------ the Muslim or Hindu fatalism and fundamentalism outburst of sorts to gain cheap media limelight and be in the headlines. Having studied in christian missionary school and having attained the noble commandments that go well ingrained in my education imbibed through my years in the school, the least I felt ( at seeing the news getting so very dominant that a dear friend had to mail me to have my candid opinion on the subject ) was outraged at the low depths of communalism that this premier Instituion was pushed to by the most unexpected breed of intellectuals.

Agreed that the Institute was established to uphold certain religious beliefs and standards...but the more important amalgamation was the kind of excellence educational centre it had become going beyond caste and creed denominator. The usual serenity in its character had been punctured by those who are taking it on the path tread ed by the Hindu and Muslim fundamentalist elements. It was more of an upbeat, suave, distinct centre of higher learning and a thorough personality development sacrosanct pilgrimage in a person's journey before being painted by the shades of religion on its faculty or on the admission canvass.

Its for the misplaced intelligentsia to place themselves in order and see the reason in denting the reputation it had attained by denying the institute the best of the talent and in helping it bloom with the fragrance of flowers of the secular spectrum. That I at one time got into Chem. Hons. in this institute and considered it a feather in my cap find the spirit being dampened by successive controversies that it had become accustomed to harp on........and in the process digging its own grave of a mediocre, narrow minded, caste ridden and religion dominant madarsa of a KIND.

DEMOCRACY AT SALE...........25 CRORES per candidate........

Never ever has the true meaning of democracy been stretched to such strange elastic proportions, never ever has the spirit of democracy been tested in such turbulent waters of political uncertainity, never ever has the viability of democracy been put to question, never ever has democracy to wash its linen in dirty waters of coalition era, never ever has the democracy been nakedly marketed by the vulgar display of money and traded for personal gratification of favours..........Never ever has democracy been put to such changing parameters of measuring its efficacy.................

The open sale of parliamentarians at an obnoxious price tag of Rs. 25 crores each, beat even the Christie's sale records. More than this the king-size role played or threatened to be played by the owners of 5,3,2 and even a sigle parliamentarian in extorting a best price to barter its support, INDIAN DEMOCRACY HAS witnessed the king-maker' s of such a significance even when there own no. is too insignificant to talk about. The sudden rise in the fortunes of Amar Singh, Soren, Ajit Singh, SurajBhan,Umakant Yadav, Pappu Yadav, Afzal Ansari, Ateeq Ahmed, Md. Shahabuddin ---most of them convicted criminals to trade a better option has highlighted the disturbing trend the coalition politics has opened up. Come to think of the world's largest democracy beegging for one single vote even from the convicted rapists and murderes....or an airport been named by someone's father's name or dropping of cases against a particular clan.... Indian Democracy has come a long way to take a litmus test--all by itself.......

And the million dollar q. is ---DO WE DESERVE TO BE RULED BY THE SECTRUM OF DEMOCRACY so very badly punctured by the egoes and arrogance of the so called Honest members. Who is going to ask them to be present before the privileges committe...??????well wasn't Ronen Sen's HEADLESS CHICKENS phrase an apt reply in their honour.........................

IRON ROD PIERCING A HUMAN-BEING.........

It happened today................a man driving his car for office hits a truck carrying iron-rods which were extending beyond the its domain.............it pierces the driver through the chest..........around 6 feet long and 6-7 kg in weight.........the man displaying sheer confidence and guts himself called up all and sundry and after a 6 hr. operation is still fighting with death....

The point is not that its something out of the world happening..............day in and day out i keep watching loads of iron rods ferried on rickshwas, cycles, two-wheelers and the same extending on both the sides dangeruosly as if inviting some fatal mishap with great patience and precision..............

Its nothing but a creation of man's inability and myopic attitude..............where on one hand we boost of space tourism and conquering Mars........on the other we are not sure if we can get home or office breathing in a single piece.................something which at the first place can be taken care of...............................................and of course precious human - lives at the mercy of man's short sightedness..........,,,,,,,,,

KARNAL SINGH ------A SPARKILING DIAMOND ...IN THE COAL-FIELDS...

I admire Neeraj Kumar for his impeccable, honest, unblotted, impressive, uncontroversial official record spanning decades in Indian Police. A few years back, I wrote to him thinking how he must have worked his way undiluted by the sheer arrogance and power of post associated with it. The man shot back with utmost promptness putting to shame even Sonia Gandhi's office and her public relation section which according to me is hopeless as far as a common person without any coalition airthmatic is concerned.

Adding to my list of appreciation was another gem I stumbled upon in my voyage to Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan. As I sat through the introductory session and as the introduction of the faculty was in progress.......there entered a gentle soul so very demured, unassuming, simple, a man without any air that is usually associated with the his rank in Delhi Police . He walked in with folded hands directed towards the higher echelons of astrological heirarchy seated on one side and to the general audience on the other. Seated in the front row which was right in front of my eyes as I occupied a seat opposite to his, the seemingly down to earth gentleman with loads of discipline and mannerisms was too much of a distraction to me as I wondered where had I seen him.......... It was only until Mr. Pillai tangently pointed towards him saying the faculty is a dedicated bunch of non-commercialised thought generating professioanls ranging from docters, lawyers, engineers and the police that the veil of curiosity unleashed itself from my thoughts and I remembered seeing him on T.V. in his capacity as high ranking Delhi Polioce personal. The man as long as he sat there kept on scoring 10 on 10 for his sober, flexible unarrogant conduct. His charishmatic smile and glowing face was poles apart from the usual haughty, stubborn and power throwing tantrums that go synonymous with the other mortals in his shoes........

Dressed in a very simple attire, supporting mediocre sandals and armed with a eternal spark he sat through-out like an obedient and well-mannered student would. My second tryst with him was when he took the lecture of Predictive astrology the following day. The most impressive moment was when he in his introduction spelt his name followed by one line that he is working with Delhi Police. Not an iota of semblence to the rude and corrupt reputation that precedes his department. The man seemed to carry the intrinsic calibre of a learned soul who believes doing his karma,,,,,,and praying God, in doing the right thing in the present that becomes the sowing seed for the fruits of future....a man with a deep sense of faith in the religion and the ability to understand the intricasies of what's beyond.........beyond man's thinking ...................

IF AT ALL EVEN 10% OF THE TOP RANKING IPS WOULD BE LIKE KARNAL SINGH AND NEERAJ KUMAR.............THE WORLD WOULD BE A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE IN AND OF COURSE THE POLICE WOULD BE MORE HUMANE WITH A ZERO-TOLERANCE CRIME RATE.....................................

MY FIRST DAY IN BHARTIYA VIDYA BHAWAN........

It had taken me almost 2 years to finally make it to the Bhratiya Bhawan. This time as if the divine powers worked and paved a smooth way for me to land at its precincts. And I very smoothly found myself taking to its ambience as fish takes to water. The intoduction session was in perfect confirmity to what my inner-self had been hunting for ------ a place where people realise the monstrous magnitude to which astrological science has been commercialised to and had been ridiculed by the money groping breed of astrolgers. Somehow I found the great orators including Mr. Rao being very practical on the issue.
His straight forwardness intruded my heart, his openness touched me, his passing on the credit to the youngsters like Meenakshi for the research done, his appreciating all and sundry for what-ever they were worthy of, simplistic attitude, down to earth persona and coming heavely on those who have put this science on the pyre of greed and exploitation........made me realise that I have entered the right door....... that my journey has ended at the right place........ahha......the walk has ended but the race is still to begin......a race to help put an end to commercialisation and exploitation and to expose the farce face of those who have thrived on such a plank.

I take as what they all said at its face value....I hope what I heard was not for the sake of a speech but for the unveiled meaning that it conveys........well I will surely take a risk ...... and plunge into the waters to swim to the shore over the tumultous sea of greed and arrogance......and I hpoe to believe the " waters " will not betray me in my quest to do what HE intends me to do................................OM NAMAH SHIVA.......

ARUSHI CASE,,,,,,A BLOT ON MEDIA AND U.P.POLICE

I had in my blog at an earlier date pointed to a fact if Noida Police can be sued for the most unprofessiaonal, imaginary, unscientific, character assassination, willy-nilly handling and elusive result oriented vision bordering much on cheap dramatisation and vulgar thought provoking script writing. The innocent father being made the scape goat and held captive for 50 days with extra-marital leads inflamming the fantasy of both the media and the U.P. Police on day to day basis with one channel getting as insane with a characterisation depicting the Talwar's being out on the night at some hotel, the day murder was committed.

It's been a good old tale from the Russian story book that Dr. Talwar walks out free after being immensely humiliated, professionally punctured and self-respect wrecked as debris of what survives after a cyclonic intrusion. But the heartening fact is he escaped being the Ginny-pig of some TRP HUNGRY media-channels and the blind police force that is a victim of criminalised political set-up.

The propagating thoughts of Arushi's affair with Hemraj or her being found in an intimate pose with him enraging Dr. Talwar or Arushi's finding of her father's physical relations with the family friend Dr. Durani or twisting and turning each sms or orkut scraps to generate sensational viewer response puts in bad light even the media role with people like Barkha Dutts hopping from one corner to another charting out media limitations and self-regulations only to forget each time the case occupies a back seat and another case upsurging the same with a different set of audience and participants.

The guilty media and incompetent police officers including the IGP,SSP,SP should be taken to task with an equal ruthless vigour with which they character assassinated the dead girl along with father's love triangle lined up as a bacck-up story, in case the former fails to boost their TRP's.........

LEFT......THE ARCHITECT OF FINAL NAIL IN IT's COFFIN..

Left by its stupidity that borders on eccentricity has created a much similar situation as the most shrewd poltician of all seasons ----DEVE GOWDA finds himself in. In hitting a death-knell to its own future where it has suffered a stunning setback in panchayat polls and more recently in the urban civic body elections. It's tally has come down from 9 to 5 in the recent municipal elections in its own stronghold of 3 decades.

According to political analysts, its LOK SABHA tally might drop from 35 to 20, enough to strike home a point --that arrogance and egoism cant stand long...........well isnt it a repeat of what Mamta Bannerjee and Jayalalitha had done before and goofed up their future into oblivionity, and more recently the way Amar Singh had conducted himself and had to suffer the humiliation,,,,,BUT WHO SAYS THE POLITICIAN'S OF TODAY HAVE ANYTHING CALLED SELF-RESPECT..............

CJI's decision ......A THOUGHT OF A LIBERAL MIND...

The Chief Justice of India has shown great understanding and acumen ship of highest order in giving his nod to the "JUDGE's EXPENSES SCAM" VIGILANCE INQUIRY TAKEN UP BY THE CBI. In allowing so he not only has spared himself the ingnomity of defending the culprit judges but has taken the steam out of the opposition sails and shrinked any political space that could have been available for all party battlefield on the subject.
It is a welcome step and would deter other judges at powerful places to fall prey to any materialistic greed and instead maintain the decorum and dignity of the office that they are attached to. Haven't we forgotten the shame that Justice Ramaswami and Justice Mukherjee brought to the profession. These things --the more they are taken seriously --the more the fear of some semblance of professionalism-- would percolate down to the lowest rung.

It is indeed shocking that a total of 7 crores swindled amongst 36 judges, 13 of them from the High Courts and Supreme Court, in a way speaks about the dwindling standards and falling ethics in the present judiciary which if not checked in time would become monstrously cancerous and another ground for a horse race to exchange money for any work done under the sun.

KUDOS TO U Mr. K.G. BALAKRISHNAN.....

Amitabh on Aamir..................

I happened to get up at 4 in the morning of 06-07-2008 and switched on the T.V. One of the channels was carrying Amithabh's views of Aamir's latest movie .It was Amitabh in his true elements. I liked the way he appreciated the work done by the new comers as against his own debut movie in Anand. He looked quite a lalu kind of a guy who learned as movies kept on coming in his lap. I think in a way his admitting that he din't knw what acting was and kept on learning in course of subsequent movies was a candid admission. He was very sweet and very warm in his appreciation so much so that it touched me as well even though i dont get carried away by all this usual sycophancy and flattering........

What my point is ----he is a good person as long as he remains in his domain but when he swears his faithfulness to a particular bunch of poiticians who have all the vices or have been actively shielding the prooven rapists, murders, flaunderers of crores of public money,,,,,,,,,,he loses his self-respect.
THOSE ARE THE MOST OPPERTUNISTIC OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE ROBBED THE COUNTY'S SPIRIT OF DEMOCRACY.HE SHOULD REMAIN WHAT GOD HAS SEND HIM TO BE......................

HE SHOULD BE AS GOD HAS DESTINED HIM TO BE ON THIS EARTH ,,,,,,rather than sound like a stooge of some one who must have been by his side when the days were not as kind............
but in that as well was the man's oppertunistic interest................to cash on the name of BIG AND POPULAR STARS....................
