THE POLYTHENE MENANCE.........

Finally the million dollar question has been solved or an attempt made in that direction. Fines to the tune of 1 lac and imprisonment has acted as a good deterrent to the polythene use that had become a bit too casual. Even the educated elite including the most savvy and happening ladies of the town would ask for a polythene on a purchase of a mere one strip of crocin. Apalling were the sights of dogs running away with the garbage of polybags and then spilling it on the roads making the whole environment vulnerable to infinitly new breed of parasites. The Mumbai
floods had polythenes as its main culprit as the drains were found choked with it.

But there is another twist to the story. It throws a dice which is to be deciphered. If such a harsh fine can cause such an immediate change of heart in the civil sense of the people, why can't we see a look-alike effect on the other aberrations of the society as well. How is it that a transport bus which keeps mowing down people and destroy the families- has its drivers running on the same route within days or a spoilt brat of a rich father is out on bail even before he is arrested after a killing spree under the influence of liqour. Why are tinted glasses attaining more popularity despite the Supreme Court's ban on it. Why has the issue of smoking remained a playing toy in the hands Rmadoss. Why are cattle still ruling the roost at the traffic signals of Defence colony and posing a threat to the millions of commuters despite being a Supreme Court ruling. Why are child labour laws being mocked at. Why are pan shops within 100 mts of school premises still in operation at Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan and Mayur Vihar. Why has the amnistration not been able to check rash, underage and triple driving despite very explicit guidelines to that effect. Why do we have increase in mobile pubs just after 5 p.m. with music at its loudest best providing the impetus to the occupants to bolden up for any oogling culminating into the likes of Swiss rape in tinted glass.

The answer to all the above is actually the willingness and an urge to do and act as the law demands them to be. Is the modesty of a woman or a human life more important than the polythene pollution and the global warming. Why is still a mockery being made of the rule of the land. If we can seemigly see such a wide change in the polythene laws....why can't we see a total ban on the manufacture of spurious drugs and its channelisation or money changing hands even for the purchase of coffins or mid-day meals funds being diverted with same impunity as the cement bags or bitumin amalgamation during carpeting of roads.........

A mere fine in thousands even after rash driving resulting in culmination of human lives and one lac penalty for dispensing in polythene bags .................definitely the dice has to be deciphered and willingness without a corrupt mindset can arrest many an abnormalities...........

DEMOCRACY AT ITS WEIRD ENDS.............

The cruelty of a few wolves masquerading as humans and that too donning the police uniforms....couldn't have been at its worst ebb........ Beating a poor girl who can't even manage a two square meal , under the charge that she stole 280 Rs. speaks volumes of the scarcity of any appreciable sensibilities that this breed of headstrong force seems to possess......pulling both ways by her hair,,,slapping her ,,,,and that too in full t.v. camears....shows the arrogant guts seeped in demon - stinking values that these protectors of law seem to possess.......

where is Menaka Gandhi or Prashant Bhushan or those N.G.O.s who seem not to miss a chance to hog the limelight........ or isn't it a weird case of democracy going the headless direction,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Democracy that's .........unanswerable , unaccountable , opaque and cruel...............
