The Home Minister did a wonderful job by cutting in on the extravagant security enjoyed more as a bonus by some of the most undeserving souls. It had been a subject of status symbol for the politicians...the more the gun wielding commandoes------------the more prestigious-the ambience. The exigencies of running a coalition govt. has also had its share of cookies and candies..... Parties with as low as 4 M.P.s had hijacked the whole system, thereby making a large posse of men in uniform to guard them. The likes of Amar Singh and D.P.Yadav who hardly have any constructive qs. raised in Parliament are the most undeserving to bag the police protection.
Withdrawing the undesired protection to politicians is one thing , but to withdraw from the officers who have tackled sensitive issues, conducted raids, prepared charge sheets, handled investigations, clubbed evidence........................putting one's own life in danger .......it comes as a dead inspiration.
Neeraj Kumar, Spl.Comm of Police, who once headed the Intelligence wing of Delhi Police and who investigated a few sensitive cases in a stint at the CBI, is one of the most honest men in uniform who has a no-nonsense approach to the subject............ He is one of those with such an imepeccable record who has given D- company's men a chase of a wild goose........ To withdraw security ring of such a person who has fearlessly done his job ..is to shake the commitment and sincerity levels that make up a selfless professional.......
Sparing 377 personnels and withdrawing cover to the likes of D.P.Yadavs.........the all time liquor baron whose son stands accused in double murder is a welcome gesture in the right direction...........but to withdraw from those who earned to have it, is a googly aimed at an audience and not at the pavilion,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
